How to:
Create a Topiary

T104.jpg (2986 bytes)

ecg04.jpg (70555 bytes) topiary rabbit sitting.jpg (52270 bytes)
Materials Required

a. Sphagnum Moss
b. Sheet Moss
c. Topiary Form
d. Floral Pins
e. Fishing Line
f. Plant (We recommend creeping fig, but a similar leaf vine will do)

Lets Get Started !!!

1. First moisten the sphagnum moss and the sheet moss.
2. Next stuff extremities of form (head, legs, tail, etc. with the sphagnum moss). wrap each tightly with fishing line.
3. Now, cover with a layer of sheet  moss around on the body and in shape of the form with your hands.  Again, wrap with fishing line.
4. Clip the excess moss smooth with scissors.
Make a small hole and push roots of plant into body. It is helpful to add some additional potting soil. Now tightly pack moss over roots and soil.  being careful not to tangle with plant. Trim moss with scissors. Pin runners of plant to moss with florist pins.

Note: Keep plant well watered. As vine grows, continue to pin shoots until body is completely covered, then pin or clip, as you prefer.
