   The year 1636 saw the fascination with tulips become "tulipomania" and the tulip prices soared. Tulipieres were popular in Europe in the 17th century. for displaying a variety of cut flowers, not just tulips as is often believed.  They were fashionable among the elite. Exciting gracing either end of a mantel or hallway table or impressive as a double centerpiece.
